The 8th General Assembly and the 2nd SciEd Conf. held on 14~17 Oct. 08 in Ankara Turkey
The 8th General Assembly of the Association of Academies of Sciences in Asia (AASA),
AASA Board Meeting,
Federation of Asian Scientific Academies and Societies (FASAS) Council Meeting
and
the 2nd International Conference on Science Education in Asia Pacific
14~17 October 2008 Ankara, Turkey.
The 8th AASA General Assembly and Board Meeting were held on 16 October 2008 in Ankara, Turkey. The events were generously hosted by the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TUBA). TUBA also hosted the 2nd Science Education Conference in Asia and Pacific, FASAS Council Meeting, and AASA-FASAS Joint Meeting.
Representatives of 13 member academies participated in the meetings. In addition to representatives of member academies, observers also attended the meetings: Representatives of the Australian Academy of Science.
One of the main agenda of AASA GA was the election of Board Members. The list of Board members for the 2008~2010 term is as follows:

Other than board members, AASA also appointed Prof. Namik Aras, former Secretary General of AASA, as AASA Project Coordinator.
